One week after the start of hurricane season, here's Louisiana senator David Vitter, talking about gay marriage:
"I don't believe there's any issue that's more important than this one."
And here's Oklahoma senator James Inhofe, inadvertently making the case against arguments that the gradual acceptance of gay marriage might be a threat to so-called traditional relationships:
"As you see here, and I think this is maybe the most important prop we’ll have during the entire debate, my wife and I have been married 47 years. We have 20 kids and grandkids. I’m really proud to say that in the recorded history of our family, we’ve never had a divorce or any kind of homosexual relationship."
Does that mean that his fellow Republican, Dick Cheney, should be ashamed of his lesbian daughter?

I would suppose that most Conservative Republicans don't record their homosexual relationships.
