Uh-oh. Although the weather is famously unpredictable, even L's magic rabbi powers might not be able to change the 10-day outlook for Oconomowoc, WI. Bring umbrellas, people, and start writing angry letters to Al Roker.
Posted by The Groom at August 20, 2004 08:17 AMJust a reader. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, but keep in mind that by the time the day you watched in the ten-day forecast gets here, the weather is usually entirely different than predicted. Here's hoping for sunny skies and mid-70s all weekend! Best to you both and congratulations!
Posted by: Sarah at August 20, 2004 09:25 AMJust another reader. Living in Wisconsin I know that you may not even know what the weather will be like the morning of the wedding muchless before that. I sometimes think that the weathermen are toying with us here in the midwest. I will think of you that day as we have a wedding to attend the day prior to yours. Best of Luck!
Posted by: JRae at August 20, 2004 11:15 AMThanks everyone! As a Northeasterner, I've always heard the expression "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute."
L and I have agreed to not even look at the forecast. 1) there's nothing we can do about it and 2) our ceremony and receoption is inside, so we won't be scrambling to come up with a plan B.
Thanks for reading!
Posted by: The Groom at August 20, 2004 12:09 PMHalf the time, the weather guys can't tell you with much accuracy what the weather is NOW!!! "It's two o'clock and rainy in Boston..." Uh huh... OPEN YOUR WINDOW!!! Sheesh.
Posted by: FOG at August 20, 2004 03:03 PM"Everytime it rains, it rains... pennies from heaven."
Just think "showers of blessings..."
:)
Posted by: suli at August 20, 2004 03:32 PMIf it rains, do we get "bunk-o"? That's what we used to have at camp when it rained. It really just meant we were trapped in our cabin playing cards and board games, but it sounded more fun with the dorky name.
Posted by: the other L at August 23, 2004 12:06 PMWe just got married on Saturday, and it POURED...everything was supposed to be outside, no inside backup, but we did have a large covered gazebo. Even with a plan B in place, the day was incredible! No matter what happens, you'll be happily married at the end of the day, and it feels great!! Don't let anything get in the way of enjoying your day! The things that go wrong are what make great memories!
